Autumn-Winter Trends | A Conversation with Blythe on Mocha, Hazel and Fossil

As the air grows crisper and the leaves turn golden, we at Fox and Scout are always looking ahead to embrace the trends that will define the upcoming season. This year, we’re especially excited about the warm, earthy tones of mocha, hazel, and toffee. In a world increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence, it’s refreshing to explore trends that bring warmth and balance. They add a touch of softness to our ever-changing surroundings. To give you a deeper insight into these trends and how they’ll influence our offerings, I, Emma, sat down with our very own visionary and owner, Blythe, for a cozy chat. Here’s what she had to say:

Emma: Blythe, it’s always exciting to see what you have in store for us each season. Can you share why mocha, hazel, and toffee are going to be the colors to watch this autumn and winter?

Blythe: Absolutely! These shades evoke a sense of warmth and comfort that’s perfect for the colder months. Mocha, with its deep and rich tones, feels grounding and sophisticated, while hazel brings in an earthy, organic touch that connects us to nature. Toffee, on the other hand, adds a hint of sweetness and luxury. Together, they create a palette that feels both inviting and timeless.

Emma:That sounds dreamy! What do you think makes these colors resonate so much with people during this time of year?

Blythe: It’s all about the emotional connection. Autumn and winter are seasons of gathering, reflection, and comfort. These colors naturally lend themselves to creating spaces and outfits that feel nurturing and cozy. They’re also incredibly versatile, which means they work well in both traditional and modern styles. Whether you’re dressing up for a holiday dinner or curling up with a book, mocha, hazel, and toffee just fit.

Emma: My dog is chestnut coated so she's going to fit right in to my warm snuggly winter haven, how on trend! Versatility is such a key point. Are there any unexpected ways you’d suggest incorporating these colors into your style?

Blythe: Definitely! Think beyond the usual. For instance, you could introduce these tones in your accessories with hazel-hued bags and shoes, mocha tones in your jewellery, we have some gorgeous mocha resin drop floral earrings arriving this season along with scarves in these trending tones. We started to see these colours come through in accessories last season and this season we seeing more along with the use with playful denim blues and citrus accents played back with mocha's. For self-care moments, consider Amber-scented candles or bath products. It’s all about subtle touches that elevate the everyday.

Emma: I've seen the pictures of the gorgeous Cupro pieces we'll be adding to our collection, (I'll take ten!) can you talk to us a little about why we adore Cupro? 

Blythe:Yes, I am a lover of Cupro. I have always had garments in my capsule collection of this fabric. I am drawn to Cupro for its silk like quality but its also a hardy fabric that takes the wash and wear of everyday life. It's peach silk like finish add to a minimalist look with is textured shine... Its delightful and a must try for fabric obsessives like myself.  On a technical level, Cupro is made from plant-based fibres. Along with its silk like qualities,Cupro is cruelty free, hypoallergenic,anti-static it can also be seen as a vegan friendly alternative with thesame luxurious feel and drape of silk.
